Five Framlingham College pupils were at the Club Indoor National Finals this weekend, with four playing for Harleston Magpies U18’s, who narrowly missed out on a place in the final, as they lost to Canterbury Hockey Club.
Goalkeeper William Graver, Jolyon Summers, Jack Hobbs and Archie Winter bounced back from an opening defeat to eventual champions Surbiton, to finish second in their pool. Cameron Cooke was playing for Norwich City in the U16 competition and despite suffering narrow defeats to Doncaster and Cheltenham, gained huge amounts of experience from the weekend.
Head of Hockey, Jamie Kingstone said, “We are delighted to see our pupils representing their clubs on the National Stage. The competition is very strong and they have done themselves proud over the weekend, the exposure can only help with their development as hockey players.”
