Despite the showers the army enjoyed an action packed 48 hours at Fingringhoe Ranges and Merville Barracks, Colchester.
On Sunday Year 10 cadets were ensconced with fieldcraft assessments for their Army Proficiency Certificate as the Year 11 and 12 cadets cleared purpose built skills houses of enemy, before chasing them down over the training area. A night orienteering exercise in the wilderness tested their skills further and left just a few hours of sleep before the trip to Merville Barracks on Monday. There they were treated to an assault course; live firing on the 25m range with the LA98A2 rifle and battle simulations on the Dismounted Close Combat Trainer.
