Science week this year was as eagerly awaited as ever. All Framlingham College Prep School pupils from Nursery through to Year 7 took part in a variety of fantastic activities all in celebration of science. Visits to Jimmy’s Farm to learn about fire and sausages; Dinosaur Land to discovery the giants that once roamed on Earth; Colchester Zoo to study conservation and Pensthorpe Natural Park to get up close to some of the most endangered and vulnerable species, in addition to some local Norfolk wildlife. Canoeing on Wroxham Broads with The CanoeMan, visiting our local Kerr Farm and and the indoor skydiving at i-FLY proved to be real highlights. Back at school we had visits from The Bug Man – Martin Rapley, Bella Bubbles – a bubbleologist , Matt Pritchard – a science magician, the RNLI and members of the Framlingham College science department. A variety of stimulating science based activities; eye and owl pellet dissection, slime, coke and mentos and static electricity kept all of the pupils enthused whilst the live hatching of the Indian Runner ducks kept us glued to our computer screens!
It proved to be a stimulating, educational, fun and awe-inspiring week, and one which will be remembered for a long time to come.
