An outstanding afternoon for the Prep School U13 and U11 hockey teams who for the third year running are County Champions.
The U11 girls had to dig deep today with hard fought draws against both Culford and Ipswich High and wins against St Joseph’s and Finborough in their group matches. This meant the girls progressed to the semi finals where they beat Barnardiston Hall on shuffles and set up a final v Ipswich Prep, where following a thrilling game the Fram Prep girls again won on penalty shuffles, with goalkeeper Mim Marvell again performing the heroics.
The U13s have been enjoying an exceptional season so far and continued this form beating Culford (5-0), RHS Holbrook (1-0), Barnardiston Hall (6-0) and Ipswich High School (4-0) to win their group. The girls played some super hockey to win their semi final v Woodbridge School 4-0 and in a re-run of last year’s county final beat a very talented Orwell Park team 1-0 to be crowned county champions once again. These exceptional performances mean for the second year running Framlingham College are girls’ county champions in every age group from U11 to U18, a feat that we believe has never been achieved before. The girls will now go on to represent Suffolk in the East of England Championships in November. Well done on a wonderful day’s hockey Fram!
