During half term, an intrepid group of Year 7s took the express Eurostar to Paris, travelling at speeds of 300kmh.
We stayed in a classic Parisian bâtiment on the banks of the Seine from where we could hear the bells of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame.
The weather was fine and bright and we walked in the beautiful Parisian streets to the Louvre, the Musée D’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower. The pupils admired the wealth of Impressionist art and the impressive large format Napoleonic paintings. We also visited the atmospheric artists’ quarter of Montmartre.
“Je voudrais des escargots s’il vous plaît ?, chorused our brave Year 7s, as they lunched in a bistro on garlicky snails!
Plenty of crêpes, gaufres and chocolat chaud completed the fare.
“What a fantastic trip!” was the overall opinion and well done to all those involved.
Bravo!
