An astonishing 17 teams at Fram College Prep School have qualified for the Tennis County Finals. With three teams still waiting to play their qualification rounds, this figure could rise to a record 20!
For the Prep School, the County Finals consist of U13, U11, U10, U9 age groups with events for Boys, Girls and Mixed teams. With around 120 children having weekly lessons, there is real strength in depth and the school has the ability to field not just A teams but B teams and occasionally C teams too.
Of the 17 that have qualified, 10 are A teams, 7 are B teams. In the U9 events, both A and B teams are through for Boys, Girls and Mixed events.
The impressive numbers are testament to how successful the tennis programme is at FCPS. The tennis offer is far from just providing performance coaching for the elite but caters for a far wider spectrum of ability. This in turn means that more and more children are selected for matches and get the honour of representing the School, something that Framlingham greatly values.
