On Saturday, Year 12 Drama and Theatre Studies pupils went on a theatre trip to London post the success of their Drama examination shows on Friday night.

In flapper costumes we dressed up to go to The Gatsby Experience which was an immersive theatre experience which had us dancing and being thoroughly entertained and moved by the story of Jay Gatsby. Afterwards we drove across London to the West End and a preview show of Martin McDonagh’s ‘The Lieutenant of Inishmore’, starring Aidan Turner. This play had been the students’ stimulus text for their A Level devised work and, right up in the gods, in a sell-out show we saw the bloody, gory, shocking and hysterically funny tale  of the chaotic consequences of the false identification of Wee Thomas – the cat.
