Hockey Tour
On Friday the U11 and U13 A girls teams travelled to Winchester House School in Buckinghamshire as part of their annual hockey tour. Both teams enjoyed challenging fixtures, particularly the U13 girls, who played a very strong side, losing 4-2. The U11 girls were challenged and despite the 5-1 victory had to work hard for every goal.
The following day both teams took part in the Bromsgrove School hockey tournament. The Under 11 team drew with Foremarke Hall 0-0 before winning the rest of their games, but unfortunately didn’t qualify for the final on goal difference, with Foremarke Hall going through and winning.
The Under 13 team won all of their games and were made to battle really hard in their final game against Loughborough High School, who clawed two goals back in quick succession with Framlingham holding on to win 3-2. This put them through to play Bromsgrove in the final, with both teams tired, Framlingham won 1-0.
A quick stop was made on our journey home to watch England Hockey Premier League Ladies match Birmingham University v Beeston Hockey Club. Girls were inspired by their quick pace on and off the ball. A fantastic weekend with the girls being great ambassadors of the school and several spectators commenting on the attractive style of hockey played by the girls.
Rugby Tour
Well done to U11A and U13A boys who enjoyed a wonderful tour to the Midlands this weekend. The U11s enjoyed themselves at the Warwick Festival remaining unbeaten against Wolverhampton, Warwick B, The Barbars and Balsall Common. The U13s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a good win at Bilton Grange, who as ever hosted us wonderfully.
Saturday saw us enjoying a feast of rugby watching England’s 39-10 win over Argentina and then onto Bedford Blues historic ground at Goldington Road to watch a titanic battle with newly promoted local rivals Ampthill. The boys were complimented by numerous members of public for their wonderful manners and efforts on the pitch.
In addition to this we met two wonderful OFs and for the second year running we met an England sporting hero. Last year we met former England and British Lions rugby captain Martin Johnson and this year we met Cricketing legend Alastair Cook, who was absolutely charming with the boys. Well done everyone on a terrific weekend.
