The Principal, Mrs Louise North and Governors are working on exciting new major building projects in line with Vision 2025.
The most recent successful projects include the Fowler Pavilion and Sixth Form Centre.
The Fowler Pavilion (2017)
Framlingham College’s most recent project was to build a new pavilion, the Fowler Pavilion, next to the existing cricket pavilion.
Funding for the project was largely due to a substantial legacy from the estate of Yela Fowler. She made this donation in loving memory of her late husband Derek Fowler DFM (Garrett 1935-40), through the Society of Old Framlinghamians.
A multi-use function room is a key element of the new building. The space offers spectators excellent views over the cricket and hockey pitches, and be ideal for presentations, lectures and other educational purposes. The new pavilion includes a kitchen and serving area, allowing for the College to provide catering in support of matches, tournaments and other events.
The new building boasts additional changing rooms available for outdoor sports, and supplements those used for indoor sports. The existing car parking arrangements, at the nearby sports centre and hockey pitch car parks, remains available to people coming to the new building.
The Sixth Form Centre (2014)
In 2014, the Senior School officially opened its new Sixth Form Centre as part of Framlingham College’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
Built at the heart of the school, the Centre has four new classrooms across two floors, together with a whole-school café and social hub on the ground floor. The first floor features a fully-equipped Seminar Room and a Sixth Form Resource Centre that includes expansive and varied working areas, plus enhanced Careers and Further Education resources.
The Centre supports the Senior School’s increasing emphasis upon preparing pupils for life beyond the College. Our pupils will enter a very different adult world to their predecessors, and we want them to be excited and stimulated – rather than daunted – by the challenges ahead.
