My Life
Chris Gange grew up in Somerset and became a teacher in 2005 after completing a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University, as well as a PGCE. Mr Gange started his career as a supply teacher in a range of schools, which provided him with great experience while at the same time allowing him to continue playing cricket at a high level.
Mr Gange started full-time teaching in a state school near Bath, and later took up a post at Millfield, where he taught PE, was the 1st XI Cricket coach and Housemaster of a large boys’ boarding house. Chris arrived at Framlingham College in 2017 as Head of PE and from 2018, took on the role of Head of Cricket as well. He enjoys keeping fit, travelling around America, going to the theatre and being in the outdoors – he has his Gold DofE award, which he is proud of! He still plays cricket and enjoys representing the MCC when selected.

Mr Gange believes that building a collective sense of pride, spirit and identity as a House is essential in ensuring the boys will care for and respect their surroundings, their peers and the staff who live and work with them. Mr Gange strives to create a ‘home from home’ environment – one that the boys will look forward to returning to after a holiday period, exeat weekend or just a long day at school. He sets high standards for the boys, the House staff and himself, and is committed to encouraging every boy to give their best and take hold of every opportunity that is presented at Framlingham College; having a ‘can do’ attitude when faced with challenge is important in life, no matter the situation. Mr Gange believes that giving senior pupils the chance to take on responsibility and lead by example helps to embed House values, and creates support networks throughout the House, as well as a positive, warm and family-like atmosphere where the boys feel happy and confident to be themselves.
