A blistering 37 runs off the opening two overs against the MCC laid the foundations for a confident win for Framlingham College against their illustrious visitors. Earlier in the day, Harry Bureau had bowled his seven overs for just eight runs while Henry Bevan and Rory Torrance had shared three wickets apiece. The MCC’s 216-6 declared had at first appeared to be a reasonable target until Maaz Dehlvi and Bevan began their onslaught.

Further runs from the consistent Ben Chapman (43) and a rapid 45 from Josh Lecompte meant that the total was eventually chased down with plenty of time to spare. Only the possibility of heavy showers threatened to ruin the party, but they remained at bay allowing the College a confidence boosting victory.
