A very long hot day at the NSEA Championships at Hickstead, as the Fram Equestrian team waited for their allotted time in the Eventer Challenge. A big thank you to Cate Kerr and Lillie Uthwatt-Bouverie for standing in for Tabby Wade and Amelia Slater.
Lily was first to go. Her very young horse knocked a couple of poles at the start but gave an increasingly impressive performance to clear all the XC fences.
Sophie Pettitt and Blue, who were competing both for the team and with an individual qualification, had a super clear to come 11th .
Hettie Meadows had another super clear round to add to the team score .
Last to go was Cate Kerr. The youngest competitor of the day started well but was caught out briefly by the first tricky XC combination. She recovered admirably and almost completed but for the last XC combination – a narrow , angled gun barrel to a brush – a step too far for her pony that day.
