WO1 Lexi Taylor organised a wonderful CCF Dinner on Saturday, 5th May and was overwhelmed by the huge turnout.
The food was superb and the company was excellent which all provided the ideal environment for the CO to thank Year 13 for the outstanding work that they had been doing this year. The speeches were refreshingly short (Lexi spoke magnificently) and impromptu on occasions, but they all affirmed the strong sense of belonging that many have for the CCF. The CCF’s aims of promoting leadership, teamwork and camaraderie are clearly being met, but the CO made it known that he believes CCF movement as a whole, has to change more quickly than it is to meet the demands of busy youngsters today.
After dinner the cadets danced and sang to Dr Higgin’s guitar and guests left excitedly chatting, plotting and looking forward to the 2019 gathering.
