On the final Monday of the Autumn Term, pupils enjoyed a Christmas Fayre in Paul’s Court at the Senior school. The initiative was a collaboration between the Charity and Entertainment Committees and raised £200 for our school charity, Adenbrookes Charitable Trust (ACT). Pupils were invited to make their own stalls alongside local businesses such as Stokes Sauces.
Some of our pupils who took part in the Fayre said:
Grace
“The Entertainment and Charity Committee produced an incredible Christmas Fayre on Monday. There was indulgent hot chocolate and carolling from the talented BTEC band, stunning artwork from the art scholars and festive stalls from every department. It was clear to see every ounce of creative energy had gone into them. It was lovely to see gifts being bought for others gladly from Indiana and Fern, two beautiful and intricate independent businesses, and people carrying such stoic grace after a very challenging few years – everyone coming together in a spirit of solidarity.”

“The Charity and Entertainment committees worked extremely hard over the course of the term to plan the Charity Christmas Fayre and to great success. The Christmas spirit was truly present, and the season of goodwill was embodied in all that we did. I am so very proud of everyone involved and to those who helped make this evening happen. The dedication to not only provide a wonderful evening of festivities such as the carolling from BTEC band, the three lovely businesses who came in and the Student Ambassadors who organised fun activities but for it all to be in aid of our Charity of the Term, Addenbrookes Charitable Trust, is remarkable. Smiles were all around and it was a lovely way to end the term.

“It was also a wonderful learning opportunity for the Prefects and Charity Committee involved in its organisation. The experience really highlighted the need for good communication and allowed us to improve our people/time management skills. The Year 13 Maths class were an excellent example of teamwork, running a successful stall with no teacher guidance. It was a beautiful event where peers and teachers worked in unison and I could not be happier with how it turned out.”
