This great evening comprised 23 drummers from Brandeston Hall School, a loud PA system, some lights and lots of people in the audience on whose tables were a small pile of ear defenders alongside the refreshments.
Boys and girls from Years 1 – 8 played along to their chosen backing tracks in splendid coordination and the onlookers were astonished at their dexterity and confidence. All did their best but a few did really excel and their rhythm and precision shone through. One of these was 6 year old Charlie Prince in Year 1 who played reggae as if he was born to and he spontaneously get the audience to clap along – just like a pro.
Music ranged from Pop to Indie, Rock to some Old School numbers that some of the ‘older’ members of the audience were more familiar with. Will Rogers, their all-patient and ever-enthusiastic teacher was very pleased with them all and said they had all worked tremendously hard to play their songs to the best of their ability.
Standing ovations and bags of ‘whooping’ helped the atmosphere to sizzle all though this eighth year of ‘Bashing’; everyone is already looking forward to the next one.
