The College Equestrian Team competed at The Jays yesterday, in the highly competitive Royal Windsor Horse Show Intermediate Show Jumping Team Qualifier.
The College were lucky enough to be able to enter two teams, Framlingham College ‘Mere Team’ represented by Amelia Slater, Hettie Meadows (Macken) and Sophie Pettitt (FCPS) who rode super rounds and the Framlingham College ‘Castle Team’ of Jasmine Slater, Lucy Carter, Dulcie Wade and Hettie Meadows (Baileys) who finished on a fast time with a total of 4 faults (one fence down). With 19 teams representing schools from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire and only the winning team taking the qualifying spot, the team were pleased to have held their own over a tough track.
There was only 1 second separating the top 2 places and Framlingham College Castle Team took the winning spot to take their place at The Royal Windsor Horse Show, competing against other qualifying schools from around the country on Saturday 13th May!
The same team went on to secure a very good second place in the Open class with Lucy Carter riding into 4th place as an individual.
A huge congratulations to all the riders and thank you to the resilient support team of parents, siblings etc without whom this would definitely have not been possible!
