We were delighted to be nominated for the Education Business Awards 2025, attending their ceremony in London on March 19.

Hosted during the inaugural Education Business Live Conference at Evolution London in Battersea Park, the Education Business Awards have been recognising the achievements of state and independent schools across the country since 2009.

Presented this year by BBC presenter and maths teacher Kate Bellingham, and sponsored by Cornerstone, the 2025 awards celebrated all the outstanding achievements of schools across the UK. This year, Framlingham College was shortlisted in the Community Award category, bringing much-deserved recognition to the wonderful work by our incredible pupils in our local community.

Every year at Framlingham, over 10,000 volunteering hours are completed by our combined pupil body in a variety of after school activities; from the Framlingham Community Garden, dog-walking, litter picking, coffee mornings, helping in charity shops, to supporting disability groups. Our annual Christmas Hamper Donation and Winter Food Bank drives (in partnership with FIND) continues to be a huge success, supporting 62 families in Framlingham and the surrounding towns between 2023 and 2024.

Following the launch of Suffolk’s first Phab Club, we continue to support local young people living with disabilities. Our pupils volunteer with the club each week, and once a month we open our doors to those families to use our facilities, or take part in an activity here at the College; from archery, music, cooking and crafting.

This year, we partnered with two new community charities. Hour Community; a local charity who help the residents of Framlingham and surrounding areas with essential support, such as transport, shopping, medical appointments and weekly social events like their Afternoon Tea events which we host in our Fowler Pavillion. And The Nest; a working farm based in Framlingham who offer day placements to children, teenagers and young adults, with mental health issues.

Last year saw the launch of our unique choral partnership with St Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich, introducing Choral Scholarships for the first time, which allowed the College to become a member of the Choir Schools’ Association.

At our Prep School, we are proud to continue to make our 23-acres and stunning facilities available to the local pre-school community, with Mother and Toddler Groups frequently using our Forest School woodland setting, with our staff running free Stay and Play sessions for the group on site.

Looking ahead, we are committed to our continued partnerships with local state schools and remain a regular welcoming venue for swimming galas, cross-country events and regional athletics championships, as well as academic workshops, technology days and access to our theatre, alongside our fully funded Sixth Form bursary campaign.
