The U18 girls produced a dominant display on Tuesday night to be crowned County Champions for the sixth year in a row. They scored 22 goals from their five matches and did not concede.
The night began with a 9-0 win over Royal Hospital School, a game that saw the first goal scored in under a minute after Lottie Summers aggressive carry from the push back, Hannah De Selincourt scored three in a fine display. Woodbridge provided a sterner challenge and a tactical test and Framlingham had to be resilient and withstand some early pressure, but he game soon turned and with Lottie Summers scoring a corner numerous chances were created until a stunning backhand shot from a narrow angle from Abby Gooderham sealed a 2-0 win. The final game of the evening was against Ipswich, a win for them would have seen them qualify for the East rounds as runners up and they began very well creating a very good chance early on that was well saved by Coral Langridge but much like the Woodbridge game the game soon swung in Framlingham’s favour and a number of excellent chances were created from the pace of Rose Winter and Tabby Billingham on the right hand side. It was left to captain Molly Redgrove to slam home two penalty corners to win the game and secure the County Title.
Framlingham are now proud holders of the County Titles for U14, U16 and U18 age groups and look forward to the East of England rounds in the coming weeks.
