On Saturday 6th April 2018, Harry Rowland gained his first international rugby cap for Denmark. The fly-half and inside-centre was chosen to represent Denmark in the U18 Rugby match against Sweden at RK Speed Rugby Club, Copenhagen, Denmark. The final score being 20-15 to Sweden.
It was an incredible experience for Harry to represent his mother’s country and to win international honours whilst still a 16 year old student. This is a culmination of his training at the College, his previous seasons with Northants Saints Elite Player Development Group and his training outside of school. It also reflects his determination and perseverance to succeed.
Moving forward, Harry has been invited to join the RK Speed Rugby Club. He has also been selected again by the Danish U18s Head Coach to play in a National Championships at the end of May and to play in two further capped Test matches later this year. Harry has also been invited to re-join the U18s squad for the 2019 season.
Harry is also a qualified Level 2 Referee and has since refereed at a number of County, Regional and National Festivals. As a Young Match Official (YMO) he has been invited to referee the entire week of RPNS7s in 2019 (subject to selection to the Fram 7s team!) and has been earmarked to join an elite and fast track RFU YMO Referee Mentoring Programme.
As a Young Rugby Ambassador (YRA) Harry has been invited to Twickenham in May as a guest of the RFU to celebrate the National YRA Programme and to watch the England XV vs Barbarians fixture.
