Despite Microsoft enhancing their selection policies for their Microsoft Showcase schools accreditations, it has been announced that our submission has been accepted and we have been awarded the prestigious title for a second time. The accreditation is awarded for innovative use of technology in teaching and learning. For our pupils, it means they can access the latest Microsoft products with corresponding discounts, take part in new product pilot launches and share expertise with other showcase schools across the UK and further afield.
Director of Computer Science, Mr Beaumont, said: “It’s a huge award for our school. There aren’t many other schools in the country who have been given the showcase status and it means we will have access to Microsoft pilot schemes. Retaining the award this year is a big achievement as it was only 40% of the existing showcase schools that managed to do so. The criteria this year were a lot tougher.

The Microsoft website describes the programme as: “Showcase Schools create student-centred, immersive, and inclusive experiences that inspire lifelong learning, stimulating development of essential future-ready skills so students are empowered to achieve more.”
