As part of the IcanAspire Saturday Programme, twelve pupils from Year 5 and 6 had the opportunity to design and construct their own water powered ‘Rescue Rocket’.
The pupils had to decide on which materials to use, how to attach them and how much water to load their rocket with in order to gain maximum height. The result was a vast array of differing designs which varied greatly in their success upon launch! There was a huge amount of excitement and much hilarity on launching as many of the rockets proved to be rather unpredictable. Mia Spaull, Etty Hayward and Rosie Rampton had real success with their rockets – potential rocket designers of the future?
