On Friday, 29th September, some of our Music Scholars’ from across the College and the Prep School were treated to an amazing performance by Evelyn Glennie and The Cohen Ensemble at The Apex in Bury St. Edmunds. As ever, our aim was to stretch the students’ imagination and understanding of performance, which this did in buckets!
There was much discussion after the concert about how amazing it was to watch Evelyn Glennie play the marimba with four sticks at the same time, and how her performance was so focused “you could see the intense expression in her face throughout”. Another great evening sharing outstanding music with our promising young musicians.
