The U16 and U18 indoor squads won their respective county titles this week to mean that Framlingham currently hold all seven available Suffolk County Titles, for the first time in its history.
Georgie Cantrell, who has recently been selected for England U16s, was the star of show in the U16 County Cup scoring no fewer than 8 of the 9 goals against Ipswich High School in the opening win to set up a winner-takes-all game against Ipswich School and with three minutes to go with a 3-1 lead, it all got a bit tense as Ipswich scored twice in quick succession only for Georgie to dive and finish a lovely pass from Amy Goodwin at the far post to secure a 4-3 win.
The U18’s retained their indoor County Title in fine style by beating RHS 11-0, Culford 10-0 and Ipswich School in front of a hostile home crowd 6-1 to win the tournament – Molly Redgrove in fine form with the ball and Abby Gooderham proving deadly from the penalty corners scoring no fewer than eleven during the night. Both teams go onto represent Suffolk at the East Finals this month.
