Year 10 pupil Poppy Mayall travelled to Prague last weekend to represent England U17s in the highly prestigious EU Nations Junior Womens’ Water Polo Tournament.
The team defeated Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany and Denmark in the group stages before facing South Africa in the final. In a thrilling contest, they ran out as eventual winners by 12-7. Over the course of the 5 games, they scored an incredible 105 goals and only conceded 14.
Framlingham College Headmaster, Paul Taylor said, ‘Poppy is an outstanding young sportswoman and as an U15 player it is an exceptional achievement to be part of such a successful U17 squad. Poppy works exceptionally hard at her many sporting commitments and thoroughly deserves every success that comes her way.’
