Two former pupils of Framlingham College, Millie Crewe and Eliza Bowditch, have had their artworks selected by judges at the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) to be displayed in the prestigious annual Star Students Art Competition exhibition.
The RBA Star Students competition encourages aspiring young artists who are identified by The Arts Society’s local Societies and asked to submit their work. The RBA then selects the very best pieces for exhibition.
Millie and Eliza were invited to submit their works when they were students at the College last year. The image at the top of this page is called ‘Mama and Papa’ and is an oil painting on wallpaper, created by Millie Crewe. The sculpture featured in the image below is called ‘Lioness’ and is of buff clay by Eliza Bowditch.
The judges have chosen twenty exceptional finalists during an unprecedented year for schools. The RBA added: “All artworks demonstrated the highest levels of skill, expression and draughtsmanship using a variety of mediums, exploring equally varied subjects.”
There are 20 selected artworks to be exhibited in an online exhibition at the end of January. The judges have already said that the standard was exceptionally high, and they believe all the students have a bright future ahead of them.
