Framlingham College’s outgoing Chairman of Governors, Andrew Fane, has been awarded an OBE for services to Heritage and Charity, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list published on Saturday.
This year is Andrew Fane’s last as Chairman of Governors, a position he has held with distinction since 2001, having been a Governor since 1995.
Andrew is a chartered accountant who, while he has spent much of his working life in the City, has always lived locally, where he also has commercial farming and business interests. He has been Deputy Chairman of English Heritage and Chairman of the Trustees and Deputy Chairman of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, where he spent 20 years at Board level. He was a commissioned officer in the Territorial Parachute Regiment.
Framlingham College Headmaster, Paul Taylor, commented: “I am sure everyone will join me in sending our collective congratulations to Andrew on this well-deserved and prestigious award.”
