Today saw the final RE trip of the school year and as ever our pupils were treated to a thought provoking morning at Ipswich Gurdwara with the wonderful Bhupindar Sually.

On our arrival at the Gurdwara we washed our hands, removed our shoes, put on our patkas and were shown around the wonderful building.

Bhupindar gave a reflective and hugely stimulating talk about Sikhism and the philosophy of this fascinating faith. He told the children about the importance of the Gurdwara and the Guru Granth Sahib and what it is like to be a Sikh living in Britain. He also asked the children to consider the spiritual nature of faith as opposed to the ritual and ceremonial.

The Brandeston boys and girls listened intently and asked a variety of perceptive and thoughtful questions, that clearly thrilled Bhupindar.

Bhupindar complemented the children on their knowledge and understanding and gave an open invitation for any of our party to return to the Gurdwara in the future.
