Lockdown has done little to dampen Framlingham College’s enthusiasm for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Despite having only 479 pupils in Years 7-13 we produced 177 awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold in 2019/20. Martin Myers-Allen, who runs DofE at the College, calculated this as 0.4 awards per pupil. Framlingham College punches well above it’s weight and came 7th in Central England’s statistical DofE results. Only 6 schools achieved a greater number of awards than Framlingham College and all of these schools have over 1000 pupils.
Louise North, the Principal said, “I am extremely proud of the go-getting spirit of our pupils, who see the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme as an opportunity to grow and develop as young people. Every challenge makes us stronger and our pupils embrace this philosophy in all that they do, both within and beyond the classroom.”
