On the 9th and 10th March our Senior Students Girls Tennis Team of Abby Gooderham, India Ball, Isabella Prince, Gabriella Edwards and Ella Sunderland travelled to Bolton for the National Finals.
The girls had won through first round encounters with Culford and Hills Road before securing a 6-0 win over New Hall in the regional final which took them to the National Final.
On the first day the girls had wins over Lincoln Minster School (4-2) and Wakefield High School (5-1) On the second morning they faced a tough battle with Sevenoaks School. With the match tied at 3-3 it meant that India and Gabriella had to play a tie break shootout. This was won 10-7 which meant that the Girls had qualified for the National Final.
A strong Stowe School team awaited in the final. Despite 3 of the 4 singles being extremely close the girls were unfortunately defeated in the final. They can be extremely proud of the achievement though of finishing as National Runners Up. Well done girls.
