The MCC Foundation (MCCF) will be holding open trials for its Cricket Hub programmes on Sunday 18th November. The Hubs, of which there are now over 50, are the flagship programme of the MCC Foundation and nationwide provide free, high- quality cricket coaching and mentoring to help young state-educated players improve their game.
Framlingham College was nominated as a Hub, the only one in Suffolk, back in 2017 and had an extremely successful first season with good attendance and a high calibre of players. Some of the players, as a result of the programme, were selected to play at county level.
Now in its second year, trials for the intensive Hub programme at Framlingham College will take place as follows:
- U13 – Sunday 18th November 10am -12pm
- U15 – Sunday 18th November 12:30pm – 2:30pm
The trials are open for both girls and boys and they need to be nominated by either their school or cricket club and not currently part of a county squad.
The children must be from a state secondary school, be comfortable playing hard-ball cricket and be willing to commit to attend all sessions
From the trial, 18-20 players will be selected for each age group who will then gain access to a 10 x 1.5 hour weekly winter programme of sessions at the College with top level coaches. These session will run from Monday 7th January 2019 for 10 weeks (not including 18th Feb for half-term): The times are as follows:
- U13: 6pm – 7:30pm
- U15: 7:30pm – 9pm
