On Wednesday evening, Sarah Langford and Mr Goldsmith led an insightful session for FramSoc about her career as a Barrister. She shared her life experiences which ultimately lead her to where she is today; including the process of writing ‘In Your Defence’. Her talk ranged from more humorous accounts of encounters with criminals to serious issues dealing with sensitive and traumatic issues and the ‘armour’ you need to develop in order to cope. As a young Muslim female, I was very pleased and inspired by her words and courage as she achieved her respectful position in society despite initial stumbling blocks and barriers to women going into law. Her session further ignited my ambition to reach far for my dreams and achieve them. So, I would like to send a big thank you to Sarah Langford – and to the College for the copies of ‘In Your Defence’ bought for each boarding house.
