Having spent the last few days practising and performing their highly successful Shakespeare play, pupils in Year 6 were challenged to channel their collaborative and creative skills once more.
Their task involved working in small groups to create a business pitch to gain support for their ideas to support the school’s on-going drive to improve ‘break-time’ offering.
They were asked to consider use of space, facilities, fund-raising opportunities and how best to present their ideas. Pupils assigned themselves specific roles within the group allowing for different opportunities to lead the way. The groups then presented their plans to ‘potential investors’ (teachers!) and this led to some very competitive and impressive performances.
The levels of professionalism, creativity and teamwork were extremely admirable, particularly given the added time constraints. Ideas included: Tree-houses, doddle walls, zip-wires, a school garden and a climbing wall.
All ideas will of course be passed onto the Pastoral Team!
